I am proud to be associated with the Dungeness River Nature Center and all they do to educate, protect, and promote our beautiful area and wildlife. I was asked to return and do another all day long Wildlife Photography Seminar for 12 people, hosted and presented this year in our own Keith's Frame of Mind Gallery, as my way of giving back to the center to help fund their important work. I normally teach one on one all day classes, so teaching a dozen people at once is a great challenge! This was offered as part their Olympic Birdfest 2026 event, and sold out quickly.

We started with a few hours in our gallery laying a good foundation on how to set up their cameras, how to get correct exposure and focus, and how I approach wildlife photography, including good ethics and resepect for wildlife. Then we went outside to put into play all the instructions and techniques with drills on changing camera settings, trying to make the changes quickly, based on different hypothetical scenarios.

Our home and gallery is a former church, converted to be an art gallery, portrait studio, print shop, and a frame shop and live edge furniture shop next to it.

We have five acres loaded full of wildlife, making it a great place to photograph birds.

After doing the drills we went back into the gallery where I demonstrated how I import images and edit to look professional. It was almost 8 hours of instructions and drills, but all the feedback I received was very positive, and my hope is I helped everyone improve their photography skills and thgey better understand how to control their cameras to be more creative.
